From the overview you must identify which data should be published, preserved or deleted after the project has ended.

• A: Be aware of policies, legislation, requirements from foundations, etc. that may have described specific ways data needs to be handled after the project. 

As a general rule, the Danish Code of Conduct for Research Integrity says that published research results must be retained for a minimum of 5 years from the date of publication date.

• B: Remember that your digital research data must be reported to the Danish National Archives at the end of the project. Read more here. 

At AAU, it is recommended to use DataDeposit, which is a local system for this purpose. Read more about DataDeposit here.

This could e.g. be platforms like Zenodo or Figshare.

These are internationally recognized data repositories for publishing digital objects - research outputs and metadata.

When you have decided which data to publish and preserve, you should move the data to the chosen solutions for this, and delete all data from the remaining AAU platforms.

This includes all AAU platforms that has been used to e.g.  process, manage or analyze data from the research project.

Be aware that several AAU platforms has terms and conditions that describes how users are expected to act regarding deletion of data (For instance AAU's HPC resources)

Yes, DataDeposit can handle sensitive data. DataDeposit can handle data up to and including level 3 according to Aalborg University’s data classification model.
